O'briens -WAR

People try to make war sound like it a daily part of our lives, when reading O'Brien's articles based on war it gives a different and more confused site on what is about. I truly believe that we as people really take to much joy in the destorying of others for our own glory. "Spin" was about gloryfiying the horror of war, Tim O'Brien wrote and gave a very vivid picture of the experiences soliders and civiliations face while being caught in the middle of war. In one part O'Brien states " the war wasn't all terror and violence. sometimes things could almost get sweet". this particular statement makes such a big difference only because it doesn't protray the true views of what war is capable of. For example when you think of older wars that we have been involved in like the Vietnam war to now being in war with Iraq there is no type of irony. it just seem to me that these story seem to give some type of reasonable excuse of why we go to war and why we have wars.
