seeing what's invisible
Through tv sets in our homes, we normally get to learn what’s going on in the world, of all sorts. Be it politic, business related issues, or anything that has our concerns. But as some of us are aware, many of the important issues in general aren’t necessarily within our reach. Those that are in control, such as politicians and businessmen in high positions, choose what not to be delivered to our homes, to our ears. What we see through the tv screen isn’t everything there is. We sometimes find that particular news information can only be accessible through some foreign news programs and even see that certain issues are addressed differently. The way we perceive things within or out side the country is often manipulated, by those that do have the tool or the power to do so. And as the manipulated form of information and knowledge shape our way of thinking, we often act or choose things the way that would suit the interest of those who manipulated them themselves. The way we concern ourselves with certain political issues, money consumption, or even our taste for food and fashion could well be controlled, by the power of the media, making us think that what we see and choose are the best there is, when it could only be an illusion which could be a well-made hook for its fish. Unless we make an attempt to see what’s beyond, we won’t be as free as we think we are.
