In order to give us a chance to catch up with these readings, nothing new to read for Wednesday. For the response, however, post a 250-400 word 'feminist reading' of a work you know well enough to discuss without too much trouble. A film you've seen recently can work well, though anything will do. What would a feminist critic be intereted in in this work? What kinds of things would they note? It could be a work we might think of as of a masculine orientation (even if that is in Showalter's 'protest' against the male), or something which tries to break out of that male/other dynamic (Showalter's gynocriticism). Try to refer to specific scenes and moments which would be of particular note to a feminist critic.
Again, be sure to bring the Achebe piece and the To His Coy Mistress piece with you Wednesday.
