William, Banks,Sara Cole- Ideology

In Raymond Williams concept of "ideology", it is to my understanding that he wasn't leading to much into Marxist views, developing his own views on how to look into the different aspects of what culture and literature; the ideas that surround them all. In one quote he states " We can return to the issues as they now present themselves, and to the important controversies which term and it's variations reveal and conceal". Which to me meant that we must first either learn to to deal with our own issues whether big or small, but to deal with them face on , no hiding , no disguising the truth because ultimately you're not able to handle it.
One example that comes to mind is the reputation of the church, and that most people base their knowledge of the church on what they heard most of their lives. The same simple myths and controversies that can lead people away from the most important thing for one's live. Raymond Williams article, would also calls this a form of an illiusion where words and things can presway people or state to fabricate the truth to make it so believeible for themselves and others to follow then searching for the truth of any issuse . In other words dealing in a serious case of denial.
Church is a place where people continually use these tales or fables to scare people into making certain changins in their lives for the better. Its alos a place that has been hidden or lied upon to keep those in one particular state of mind, and this is where i believe that Raymond Williams tries to get people to understand, that it is the most simple but life threathen situtations that can either expose the whole truth or nothing else, but it's how we interpret it and use it to help us along the line to succed
I dont really believe that Banks and Williams would tie in together to much , but only thing that i found they had in common was the practice of veiwing things in such a matter that would draw people to believe the unbelievible. It's mostly in the parts where Ron continually describes Sara in such horrible way. It makes you question what love coulld this person ever have if this is how he always viewed her or maybe not even just her but life and this is where i believe these two writers tend to become a little similar. Only because they dissect people veiws and words and look for the hidden meaning behind it.
