Semester of Marxism!!!

This semester in English 150w, has been a big challenge but not as much as the on going discussions on Marxism, and the views that many writers and film have been based upon. I have always felt like Marxist view would never allow people to voice out their opinion . like it was just one sided and made things more difficult than it needed to be. Well it has been proven to be correct , when i look back at " Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer" here for example of a simple Christmas story that is to let children know that there is a place for you anywhere, and that Christmas is fun, but after reading the article and than being in the class discussion it just seem like that sweet character was torn down , into something much bigger than what it was. It has been a real experience to hear how these readings do effect the way we think , it has raised a few questions which do get answered in class and a few by googling on the computer for more information on a topic. Sometimes it feels like i don't get it and other times it does, i will say that Marx's view rather i want to believe everything does play a big part in some of our everyday thinking and handling of things within our life. I guess it pretty cool that this class is allow to support and argue their opinions on this very big and vivid topic in literature. I have seen how this theory has had a tremendous impact on alot of films/literature, that so many people have either based their views to these theories or tried to argue against these views, at times it felt like they tried to label society with who's better than the other, this is where i found it to be hard to relate to or even understand. Now i can be wrong but to be honest this is how i felt and this is why i feel like it been so hard for me to get into all of the discussion.
