This threw me

"When the estate of the urban burghers, the
corporations, etc. emerged in opposition to the landed nobility, their condition of existence -- movable
property and craft labour, which had already existed latently before their separation from the feudal ties
-- appeared as something positive, which was asserted against feudal landed property, and, therefore, in
its own way at first took on a feudal form."

I 'm not sure what Marx and Engels are attempting to say about the creation of industry in relation to people's relationship to or idea of the state?

MARX & ENGELS

"The conditions under which individuals have intercourse with each other , so long as the above -mentioned contradiction is absent, are conditions appertaining to their individuality , in no way external to them ;conditions under which these definite individuals ,living under definite relationships , can alone produce their material life and what is connected with it; are thus the conditions of their self -activity and are produced by this self -activity." When I first read this portion of the essay , I read it 3 times after that and I still did not understand what Marx and Engels were trying to say .
