The dominant culture of Fidel Castro..

Unfortunately, in today’s society there are several dominant cultures that attain the “spontaneous consent” over the rest of the cultures. One particular example, is the ruling of Fidel Castro in Cuba. Fidel Alejandro Castro Ruz was a Cuban activist who lead Cuba from January 1959, until February 2008. When Castro became the Prime Minister of Cuba, he turned the country into a single party state. The Cuban people became outraged, because this newly formed government system allowed only one political party to run the government and no other parties were tolerable to run candidates for any election. This type of system is also referred to as “de facto-single party state,” describing a “dominant party system. It consisted of laws and ideologies that prevented the Cuban people from attaining any authority. The Cubans disliked being apart of this communist society. These people have been ruled under Fidel Castro’s beliefs for so long, that they were afraid to talk a loud about a change. “My country is like a prison” stated one Cuban student, sitting on a park bench, who was interviewed by James C. McKinley Jr. Some Cubans explain how they have no freedom, no connection to the outside world. Many Cubans feel upset because they have to continue living on a salary that is extremely insufficient to live on, due to Castro’s assertion. After suffering from an intestinal illness, Fidel Castro gave all responsibility to his younger brother Raul Castro. On February 24, 2008, Raul Castro became Cuba’s new president. However, many Cubans feel hopeless, and do not believe their country will change for the better. There is strong belief that the Castro brothers think alike, and many believe that even though Fidel Castro is not in office, he will still work from behind the scenes…
