"Leave, you ugly bitch."

This is complex nature of things: Ron doesn't have to stay with Sarah, he doesn't have to do anything he doesn't want to. That is the cold truth. It is not his fault he was graced with good looks. It is not his fault that he has money. It is not Ron's fault that Sarah was quite the opposite of him in these aspects. Sarah believes that Ron owes her something.
"Friendship you owe me. And respect. Friendship and respect. A person can't do what you've done with me without owing them friendship and respect."
"Sarah, I really don't know what you're talking about," I said. "I am your friend, you know that. And I respect you. I really do."
"You really think so, don't you?"
"Yes."
Ron agrees to some degree: "Her voice had risen as she heard her demands and felt their rightness, until now she was almost shouting at me. 'You owe that to me. Or else you're a bad man. It's that simple.'
It was."
What Sarah wanted from Ron is agreeably the right thing, but it is not the necessary thing. That is the problem. The ruling class doesn't owe the "working class" anything, but it would be nice. Ron had sex with Sarah, Sarah wanted to have sex with Ron. Sarah expected more in return.
I didn't think Ron is a bad man. He isn't running a nation though.
And, here's the complexity - I wouldn't want to be treated the way Sarah was.
